During my recent nine-night stay at Cortijo, nestled in the tranquil Axarquía comarca, I found it to be a peaceful haven. The one-bedroom house was well-equipped, surrounded by avocado and olive trees, ensuring a relaxing escape from Belfast's urban hustle. Each morning, I enjoyed fresh air from my terrace overlooking the mountains and the outdoor swimming pool, perfect for languid afternoons. Although the beaches of Torre del Mar were a thirty-minute drive away, I opted to indulge in the serenity of the gardens, filled with fruit trees, while listening to the melodic chorus of singing birds. Mario, the owner, was discreet yet attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. The quaint village of El Borge, with its charming eateries like Café-Bar Paco, added a local touch to the experience.
